Who are we?

A group of young filmmakers and creatives from across Wales have come together to work on an exciting and innovative new project,

Ffilm Ifanc: Young Film.

Ffilm Ifanc are a group of young filmmakers, animators, writers, musicians and poets who have come together to curate programmes of films that will appeal to other young people. Supported by Wicked Wales Films, the youth curation team are especially keen to programme made in Wales shorts and features as well as UK and International independent film.  They are on a mission to remove barriers of access for young people across all aspects of the film sector, from production to programming, alongside empowering young people to feel they have a space at film festivals and cinemas as audience members.

Ffilm Ifanc are also passionate about screening Welsh language films and are keen to collaborate with film festivals and filmmakers across Wales to join forces and raise the profile of films made by young filmmakers from Wales. They have screened films on the Chapter Player, at WOW Film Festival and toured a specially curated programme of short films at venues across Wales.  Ffilm Ifanc work closely with WYFN and enable members of the network to access authentic youth curation support for screenings and festivals.  Alongside screenings, Ffilm Ifanc have organised Q&As with young directors, workshops and recently a panel event at Cardiff Animation Festival.
